HAIR: Fairly short, brown, messy hair that always seems to be sticking up in every direction.
EYES: dark brown, medium shaped eyes.
BODY AND HEIGHT: He is lanky and tall, and very skinny, but not too skinny. He's fairly tall, about 6' to 6'1" and long legged. Though he doesn't look it, he's fairly strong, and a fast runner.
DISTINCT MARKINGS: ---------
CLOTHING/STYLE: At work, and when he's teaching, he always wears robes. When he's teaching, he wears black robes, and glasses. He actually doesn't need them as much as he wears them, though he does need them for late night reading and such, or reading newspapers, etc. When he's out and about at school, he'll wear, generally black, brown, or dark blue robes. He's very plain, doesn't wear anything too fancy, and always looks professional.
When he's out and about in the world, he wears a suit. Black, brown, pinstriped, blue, always a suit. And he always has glasses with him, so he can pop them on if he's looking at something. The reason he does this shall be explained more in detail later. He doesn't like to be pestered, which is why he wears a suit, and people don't pester those who wear suits. Whether it's a party, getting together with friends or family, he always looks nice, and a bit dressy.
Also, no matter where he is or what he's doing, unless he's swimming or walking in deep mud or in the greenhouse, he is always wearing trainers. Black, green, blue, red, yellow, grey, multicolored, you name it. He will always be wearing trainers whether he's teaching, or out in the world, or just hanging around. Just who he is.
ANYTHING ELSE: Though he is English, and has mostly posh accent, if he doesn't wish to be recognized, he can change his accent as well as he can change his features with magic. He can do a cockney, northern, Scottish, Irish, and American dialects very well.

DISLIKES: flying, cats, not being taken seriously, Death Eaters, his family, people who ask stupid questions, students who aren't serious about their education.
STRENGTHS: intelligent, good at disguise, strong minded, social, talkative.
WEAKNESSES: Romance (meaning he's rubbish), annoying, slightly nerdy, odd, talks a LOT.
PRIORITIES: teaching, Order of the Phoenix, keeping people safe.
BOGGART: cats, friends dying, flying.
ERISED: To invent a spell that deflects the killing curse (probably won't be very successful)
VERITASERUM: He is terrified of a commitment that would ground him - basically - relationships
PATRONUS: owl, basically, his entire time at Hogwarts
PENSIEVE: When he realized his parents supported Voldemort and the Death Eaters.
PERSONALITY OVERVIEW: When you first meet him, often, he seems to be one thing: nerdy. He's a bookish school teacher, you will almost always see him carrying a couple of books around. He's chatty, and very enthusiastic about his subject to the point of "Oh my God save me." Some, more sensitive people will actually go out of their way to avoid him. Many student's think he's a bit of a joke. He's a perfectly normal teacher: he's loved, despised, and not cared about. Just like every other teacher in the world.
However, once he starts teaching, students are often surprised. He's one of the youngest on the Hogwarts staff, practically a kid. He's full of energy, and he's very good at what he does. He loves to make things interesting, because he loves teaching, and he loves his subject. There are often practical lessons, and he always has a variety of unusual and sometimes dangerous creatures in his office. In the warmer months, they often go outside. He does not let one of his students out of his class at the end of the year without learning something.
Outside of teaching he's quite social. He's a talkative, sociable personality, and has time for everyone. However, he often gets rather into what he's saying, so this sometimes backfires when he's talking to several people because one will often get ignored. He also has a habit of talking to himself, which also leads to people being ignored. However, as distracted as he may seem, he is very attentive to details. He notices if things are out of place (usually), and is a very quick thinker. He can pull out his wand in the blink of an eye.
However, he is a bit of a wimp as well. He hates heights, and therefore has not gotten on a broom in ten years. Not to mention, he is a very poor flier anyways. He prefers to dissaperate (possible spelling fail) anyways. And as far as relationships are concerned....stay AWAY. He's not rubbish, he's just scared of the commitment.
Oh, and the glasses that he doesn't actually need? They make him look clever of course.

MOTHER:Arabella Knox
SIBLINGS:Anton Knox, and Phillip Knox
OTHER FAMILY: none
SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS: middle class, on the poor side.
HISTORY OVERVIEW: Royden Knox was born into the wrong family. For some reason, his family seemed to believe that being a Pureblood made you the heads of society. Roy was an energetic, easygoing kid who wanted to have a good time; he didn't want to be royalty like his parents believed he should. He grew up being told that he was better than everyone else, that he was special, unique, and powerful. And he believed it. Though he knew deep down that it was wrong to taunt muggles and muggle-born witches and wizards, he was afraid to defy what he'd been told. Afraid that his parents would get angry.
And so, he lived a pampered, pureblood life in a wealthy family. He was happy, for the most part, once he got used to treating people like they were dirt, it wasn't that hard. When he went to Hogwarts with the entire family having been in Slytherin, he knew he was going to be in it too...right? Well, nobody could be sure for five whole long minutes. Though he never told anyone, the Hat had debated on putting him in Slytherin or Gryffindor for a whole five minutes before finally putting him in Slytherin. His parents were thrilled of course.
Roy went through Hogwarts living in the world of Slytherin. That also meant, that as a third year, he curiously tagged along with the seventh year named Tom Riddle. He was an idol, everybody loved him, and Roy was awed by him. Yet the only thing that bothered the young boy's mind was that nobody ever seemed to actually see Tom accomplish the amazing things he did. He also heard the name Tom had fashioned for himself floating around te common room. It would be a good ten years before he realized just how important it was that he remembered who had that name.
He went through school hanging out with purebloods, and fully into the whole "Pureblood mania" that was going on. It wasn't as big of a thing at the time, but he along with other Slytherins did right nasty things to the muggleborns of the school. They would taunt them, jinx them, all sorts of nasty tricks. However, during Roy's seventh year, something changed. His younger brother Anton and his gang, who were particularily nasty got into trouble. A muggle born had caught them in the act of trying to break into the muggle studies teacher's office, no doubt to vandalize and all three of them got detention. The next day, Roy was hanging out with his brother and friends, when they came upon the girl. Roy had been nasty, taunting, rude, and would sometimes jinx or hex muggle borns, but never anything serious. However, his brother's gang of friends outright attacked her.
And he stood there and watched as they tortured her. Where they had learned such spells, Roy didn't know, but as he yelled at them to stop, a teacher came around the corner, saw what they were doing, and within the day, all three of them were expelled. How Roy managed to get off with detention for the rest of the year, he didn't know, but the incident shook him badly. Badly enough to change him. He spent most of the rest of that year on his own, he didn't jinx, or taunt, or do anything of the sort. He hardly spoke, he hardly did anything but thought. And he came to realize how screwed up and backwards he'd been.
When he graduated, he decided to become an auror. He had achieved excellent grades, was good at disguises and was excellent at Defense Against the Dark arts. However, his parents had other ideas for him. His older brother had become one of Tom's - who now called himself "Voldemort" - followers. His parents were very proud, and suggested the same course of action to him. Before he even gave himself a chance to think about it, he said no. At first, his parents were just disappointed in him. However, it was when he got a job as an auror that they really lost it. They demanded, and ordered, even threatened him, but Roy had seen enough in school, and heard enough outside; what he had done had been mean sport, but this was downrigh unhuman. Finally, his parents gave up, and let him be.
For three years they all lived under the same roof, until Roy just couldn't take it anymore. This, was where he used his disguises, because people knew him. He ran away from home when he was twenty five, changed his name to Frederick Plane, except when he was at work. He even changed his accent, and changed much of his appearence. When he was finally forced to leave his job, he desperately set up self defense classes for any witch or wizard who wanted to; these were dark times, as Voldemort's support was on the rise, and the killings were beginning to appear. Surprisingly, he made some money off of it. It was then, that he realized he liked to teach. Whether they were spineless fools, or parents, or nervous Hogwarts graduates, he realized that sharing his knowledge with people was actually fun. So when he was twenty eight, living in a muggle flat, and heard that Hogwarts was looking for a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, he applied. Dumbledore was wary at first, having remembered him from his younger days, however it didn't take long for Dumbledore to realize the transformation and talent there, and so he accepted him.
Now he teaches, has a comfortable place to live nine months out of the year, and recently joined the Order of the Phoenix, where he was able to provide a little bit of a back story on Voldemort; though he didn't know much, every bit helped. He hasn't heard from his family in five years.
