James relentlessly pushed the sleeves of his robes up his arms knowing that each time they would fall right back into place around his wrists. He would have taken the robe off and been done with it if his mind hadn’t been elsewhere. Unlike his previous years where James spent the majority of his time planning on the best ways to make Snape’s knickers itch, he was now thinking of the best way to impress a certain fiery ginger girl. Lily Evans had become the Head Girl to his Head Boy. It was odd, he never signed up for the part or even had a prior position as a prefect. Still, Dumbledore apparently thought it was prudent to name the most troublesome boy in Hogwarts as the leader. James thought it was a mistake and that Dumbledore had meant to appoint Jim Potts, a common mistake. Except there was no person with such a name. There was no mistaking it, James was Head Boy and thrust with a million different responsibilities.
The ethics and morality that came with being Head Boy meant nothing to James though, he was excited that Lily had become Head Girl. Though, of course, James wasn’t surprised she was very brilliant and talented….and pretty. James became lost in the thoughts regarding Lily Evans again and ignored that he had been so carefully balancing his chair on two legs. With a tiny shift in the balance the chair toppled backward with James on it. His head hit the ground of the library. A few other students snickered and hid their faces behind books while some Slytherins made a few rude comments.
James pushed up and glared at them. He raised an eyebrow and tapped his finger on the Head Boy badge pinned to his robe. The Slytherins stopped and straightened their backs. They rolled their eyes and turned back to their text books. As if they were actually reading or could read anyway, James thought. He was standing now and brushing the dust off his robes. James had a few books on the otherwise empty table. He had meant to do some studying, rather, make it seem like he was studying should Lily pop by. To her, James was nothing but a screw up and while that may have been true he was determined to get her go on at least one date with him this year. James had always liked her a little bit since their first year. It wasn’t until two years ago that James really started to notice her in a way that he never had before. She drove him mad and James found that he wanted her more than anyone else in the world. And while Lily wanted nothing to do with him, James loved the idea of a challenge. He would show her that they were meant to be. He just needed to figure out how. James set the chair upright and glared at the other students eying his fall. They adverted their gazes back to the things that previously occupied them. He scoffed and nodded in a proud manner and sat back down. Mindlessly he flipped open his Defense Against the Dark Arts book to a random page and stared at it only for a moment. He then took his wand off the table and began twirling it in his hand moving his thoughts to what he would plan to do with the Marauders this weekend, another Hogsmeade trip. James needed some supplies from Zonko’s and maybe a box of Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans for Lily. Nothing said I like you than the possibility of eating toe jam, bogies, or earwax.[/blockquote] WORD COUNT// 611 TAG// lily my love! NOTES// cuteness!

Lily brushed her hair behind her ears as she flipped through her Transfiguration book. She was going to have to make a stop at the library if she was planning on finnishing her report on Falco Aesalon. She losened her tie as she went out the door, and made her way to the library where she ran into a few Slytherine students who were just leaving the library. Lily fell to the ground, her books flying to the ground. The students made no effort to help her. Instead they just walked past her, and she could hear one of them asking why a mudblood was chosen has head girl.
Once Lily had composed herself, she went straight to the Transfiguration and Animagus books, not even noticing the guy who was her opposing title. She heard a few younger Gyffindors giggling next to her; she turned and looked at them. "Did you see James Potter out there? He's so cute! What do you think he's doing here? I didn't think he actually studied." Lily smiled to herself, keeping sure not to let the girls see her. She peaked out to the tables from behind the book shelf. There he was. Lily smirked a little. What an idiot. Did he think that pretending to study would impress her? She mine as well go over there and let him know that it wasn't working. Of course, Lily knew that this was just and excuse to go over and talk to him, but she hadn't full come to accept that.
Lily rushed to the bathroom, and went straight to one of the mirrors in front of the sinks. She ran her fingers through her hair and smiled into the mirror, checking her teeth for any imperfections. Lily pulled her skirt up a little, so it didn't look so frumpy and unbottoned one of her shirt buttons so she didn't look like a librarian. She losened her time a little more and did one last inspection. She looked fine. Not that James would think otherwise; he always had eyes for her in past years, why would anything change? Lily sighed. She really shouldn't like him. She repeated that over and over in her head as she waked back to the library. He was the opposite of her. He wasn't at all interested in grades, and he liked picking on the guy who had at one time had been his friend. All James cared about was Quidditch. And yet, she had gone to the bathroom to fix herself up before going to talk to him.
Once Lily had re-entered the library, she realized that whether she liked him or not, she was going to have to talk to him either way; they were head boy and head girl. They were going to have a lot to do together. That thought made her heart flutter, but she hated herself for it. She stared at James, sitting at a table, staring at a book. A ruse, of course. Those Gryffindor girls were right when they said that he never actually studied. He was here to see her and impress her, she just knew it.
"So finally cracking down on the books, Potter? Guess you have to keep up appearances now that you're head boy.
" Lily said smuggly as she brushed him. She sat down opposite him and smirked again. He looked so cute with his hair dishovled like that. Lily had to bite her lower lip to push away that thought. After all, he was still that stupid kid who liked to pick on her friend...ex-friend. She coughed a little, trying to compose herself; she had to remember that he was still that guy. Just because she decided that he was the cutest most charming guy in school didn't change the fact that he was the jerk who broke her from her used to be best friend. Although, it did sort of bring out the true colors. " Anyways, you should probably working on your History of Magic essay." she pointed out looking away from him. How could she like him? He was such a...such a... a toerag![/blockquote][/blockquote] WORD COUNT: 703 TAGS: oh James~ NOTES: lol she likes him
